Exciting New Name & New Brand Holistic Wellbeing With Nicola
Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog as Holistic Wellbeing With Nicola.
My previous business name was Holistic Therapies By Nicola. I had been thinking of expanding my business and therefore required a new brand to reflect the change. So I started to plan how my business was going to change.
When did the plan for new brand start?
Back at the end 2019 I started to put future plans into action
- Purchased stock to sell to compliment my treatments such as nail files, cuticle oils, Himalayan Salt Bath products and crystals.
- Made contact with colleges and training academies about instructor courses for baby classes.
- Had a meeting with a graphic design team about new business cards etc
Fast forward to 2020 and in the news was this illness in China called ‘Covid-19’ and in my naivety I thought it would be contained in China and not effect our country. Then there started reporting of cases in the United Kingdom and what we should be doing if we showed symptoms. By middle of March 2020 I was receiving messages and phonecalls from clients cancelling their appointments to be on the safe side so then it began to dawn on me how serious it was.
March 2020
23rd March 2020 saw me close my doors of my treatment room following government guidelines. So then all my business plans also went on hold. I contacted the graphic designer to advise I could not go ahead with the planned business cards as I had to watch my finances. I could not enrol on any courses 1. because they were not running and 2. as I had no income. So the country was now officially in lockdown and I suddenly became a homeschooling mum which was a massive curve-ball in my plan.
So at this point I decided to make the most of having the extra time with the children not just doing home learning but making memories and teaching them life lessons (changing bedcovers, making a cup of tea etc.) and even found time to read a book or 2 and complete a cross stitch.
During this first lockdown myself and my husband had lots of discussions on how we could create some income and we talked about the retail side of my business so I started to advertise the items I had and I started to gradually build up a stock of items which I was mainly selling through Facebook. I also did lots of live videos on social media on how to give yourself a pedicure or how to remove gel polish to keep people the skills to do it themselves until they could get back to my treatment room.
July 2020
In July 2020 it saw my business reopen which I was thrilled and clients started to come back and the income started flowing. I was back on track, yes I had to make sure I adhered to Covid Secure policy. I started to make plans again about courses, ways to expand and what I wanted to do in a business.
November 2020
At the beginning of November we found ourselves back in a lockdown and at this point I really started to concentrate on the retail side and how I could support my clients without seeing them in person. So at this point I started offering 1-1 Zoom calls to chat to clients and offering stretches and hand reflexology points to help.
I purchased in lots of items to sell such as angel wing decorations, Christmas Items, Power Bracelets and Worry Stones just to name a few which I advertised through facebook. The items proved to be popular so I knew I was on the right track. I was doing doorstep delivery options or contactless collections.
At this point I was trying to think of a new business name and I played around with a few such as Holistic Wellbeing Centre (which is actually my second facebook page name) but then I realised that most client just knew me as Nicola so I came up with Holistic Wellbeing with Nicola.
Holistic Wellbeing With Nicola was born
In April 2021 my business reopened after the second lockdown and it felt amazing to be able to help client with relaxation, muscle tension and de-stress. Shortly after the rebranding process begun with a meeting about new logo and new website with shop. The meeting was very sucessful and after the meeting I purchased my website domain. Then after a few months I was finally at the stage of launching my new brand but of course I’m still offering the same service.
