Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some regularly asked questions, if your question is not listed please feel free to send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Do I need to supply anything for the treatment?
No I supply everything to carry out your treatment.
How can I prepare for the treatment?
To prepare for a treatment I suggest wearing comfortable clothing and drinking water. If you are having a back massage I would suggest not to have a heavy meal beforehand. If you are having reflexology some people like to wash their feet before but it is not essential.
What can I do about hard dry skin on my feet?
I would suggest to use a foot scrub once a week followed by a good quality foot cream/balm. Also use a good foot balm or cream on a daily basis to help add the moisture back to your feet. For my recommendations of good creams please contact me via email.
You can also purchase food masques that can help soften and moisturise feet.
Do you offer a mobile service?
I have a treatment room at my home but can offer a mobile service. If you are out of the SS postcode or more then a 30 minute drive from my address extra mileage would be incurred.
How much do you charge?
My prices start from £10. To find a full description of my treatments and prices please visit Facebook page or my website
How do I pay for a treatment?
I am able to accept cash or card payments or if you prefer bank transfer or PayPal can be arranged. If paying by bank transfer or PayPal I would prefer payment to made either in advance or while still in the treatment room. As you can appreciate I do not want to be spending time chasing for payments.
How long will the treatment take?
All my treatments have different times. When you book a 30 minute treatment if your first appointment I would suggest to allow 1 hour. If it’s a 1 hour treatment I would schedule you for 1 hour 30 minutes. If you require any further information about treatment length please feel free to ask when booking your appointment.
Why do you allow extra time for appointments?
I allow extra time for each appointment as I would hate someone to feel like they are being rushed as we may need extra time for the consultation or aftercare.
How long do you allow between each client?
I allow 30 minutes between clients to allow me to clean the treatment room and set up with clean towels. It also allows for extra time if required if you have any further questions or to allow you time to relax following the treatment.
Do you do waxing?
Unfortunately, I do not offer waxing but I can recommend someone that does. I continually look for other courses and treatments to offer so it may be something I offer in the future.
Do you have to use oils?
I have a variety of mediums such as oil, cream, balm, talc and waxes so we can discuss your requirements.
Are your products vegan friendly?
I have a variety of products which some are vegan friendly. I try to choose products that are natural and organic.
What treatment are suitable during pregnancy?
Reflexology, Massage and Reiki are all suitable from 12 weeks of pregnancy. I also offer manicures and pedicures that are suitable during pregnancy.
Do you offer pregnancy massage or pregnancy reflexology?
The quick answer is yes I’m fully trained and insured. The longer answer is I have undergone further training in pregnancy reflexology and pregnancy massage to be able to support ladies during their pregnancy journey. I choose to only treat from 12 weeks of pregnancy as those first 12 weeks your body is going through a lot of changes hormonally, emotionally and physically. Also massage and reiki are not advisable before 12 weeks therefore I would not be covered by my insurance. You can however have treatments right up to your due date and even beyond providing there is no complications and you feel comfortable to do so. A treatment during pregnancy may help with relaxation, aid sleep and release tension which would all be beneficial to you before the arrival of your beautiful bundle of joy. By undergoing the further training I have gained knowledge in the correct positioning of the client (not laying flat on their back, extra cushioning), the areas/ points to avoid, areas use less or no pressure, and how best to set up the treatment room for their comfort. I also allow extra time for my pregnancy treatments as understand that we may need to stop during for a comfort break or to reposition the client or for them to get a drink or snack.
I’m 40+ weeks pregnant and I’ve been told reflexology can help bring on labour?
As a reflexologist I can guarantee or promote that reflexology can bring on labour. But a reflexology treatment may help you relax and release tension that may help your body to prepare for labour. From 37 weeks pregnant I can complete a technique we call preparation for labour which is another way that may help your body relax. Maternity reflexology is suitable from 12 weeks pregnant right up to beyond you due date and even during labour but it depends on how the mum to be feels. There is a number of research studies into how reflexology supports pregnancy and some of the research has found…..
- Reflexology in pregnancy significantly reduced pain during labour and reduced the length of first stage labour
- Improved quality of sleep in post natal women
- Reduced pain and stress levels for women with low back pain or pelvic girdle pain
- Has a positive effect on lowering the total anxiety score of women in labour.
Do you do treatments on men?
As I specialise is Women’s health and wellbeing I predominantly only treat females. I will only treat men via a female referral ie. from their wife, sister, aunt, girlfriend, close friend.
What is included in a body massage?
A body massage is a relaxing massage of the front of your legs, your arms, back of legs, feet and your back. I do not include the chest or abdomen area. If you require to extend your treatment you can add on a face and head massage for an additional cost.
Do you do Fertility Reflexology?
I have completed further studies in conception and how reflexology can support ladies on their conception journey. When I support clients on their conception journey my initial intention is to try and help them with some relaxation and stress relief. I then will work with their own bodies energy and would have the intention to try to balance their bodies and as reflexology is a gentle treatment your bodies will take what it needs. As every lady is different I can not guarantee whether reflexology will help in your conception journey but I am here to give a relaxing treatment and a listening ear if you require it. My own conception journey was not an easy one due to poly cystic ovaries and I had to have many tests, procedures and medication myself so I’m happy to listen as I know what you are going through as for me it was a very stressful and emotional time.
What days of the week do you work? What hours do you work?
I offer a variety of appointment days and times to try and cater for everyone. I also allow for time between clients to clean my treatment space and take short self care breaks to recharge my own energy.
But in generally work
