Title: Aerocentre N.C.211 Cormoran The Aerocentre N.C.211 Cormoran was a large four-engined French transport aircraft designed just after the end of WW2. It was competing for orders with the Breguet “Deux-Ponts”. Although versions were designed using British or US engines, initially it used French engines and was comparatively under-powered. A prototype was completed in 1947. Unfortunately it crashed on its first flight with the loss of all 5 crew members. The cause was later attributed to a failure of the flap interconnect mechanism leading to an asymmetrical situation. A second prototype was completed and undertook several flights during 1948, but by that time the political decision had been made to cancel the program and no further examples were produced. It is unlikely that any manuals were produced for the aircraft, but this Title includes three technical brochures on the aircraft, along with an interesting short history of the type produced by the Historical Society of the Village where the prototype was built and first flew from.
