Description LEPIDOLITE SPECIMEN This is the polished on the one side purple lepidolite specimen with feldspar and quartz. Dimensions: 4.1 x 2.8 x 0.3″ (10.3 x 7 x 0.7cm). Weight – 2.5oz (71 grams). Origin: Russia, Transbaikalia. Some information about lepidolite: Lepidolite is a lilac-gray or rose-colored member of the mica group of minerals. It is the most abundant lithium-bearing mineral and is a secondary source of this metal. It is the major source of the alkali metal rubidium. Lepidolite found with other lithium-bearing minerals, such as spodumene, in pegmatite bodies. It also found in high-temperature quartz veins, greisens and granite.
